I’m doing this review for my husband. I bought these dark brown ones, hoping to replace a pair of loafers he had worn out. He LOVES them. I have ordered a pair in black at his request. He said he forgets he’s wearing shoes and is loving the feeling of freedom.

Never tried these shoes on. I ordered black shoes in this style. I was sent brown shoes in a box marked black shoes. I made the return. Rather than re-ordering from Zappos I went to the manufacturer’s website and re-ordered the shoes from them.

Although Bromptons are loafers I purchased them for use as slippers, indoors, February 2022.
11 months ago, today.
And I’ve worn them, inside as slippers, 3 or 4 evenings a week for an hour or two before bed.
These shoes are actually disintegrating.
The insoles, the stitching, are falling apart; even the outsoles are wearing out on wood/carpeted floors.
I only paid $65.
My suggestion is that you don’t pay anything for these, at all.
What happened, Born ??

5 stars for Zappos customer support. The shoes are nice too. First pair of these I bought a thread holding the upper together started to come loose after one day of wearing them to work so Zappos customer support sent a replacement without a fuss. The new pair is holding up so far and breaking in nicely. I wore the original Born Bromptons I ordered from Zappos till there was a hole in the sole, they broke in really nice and looked great. The only complaint I ever had is the narrow toe box; having worn barefoot style shoes now for several years these feel a little restricting, but not the most uncomfortable, the leather does stretch after some time. All in all though, I recommend these.

These shoes feel cheaply made. The leather is very thin and look/feel like vinyl. I am use to a higher quality shoe from Born. My previous pair is 10 years old. Was hoping to replace them (due to sole wear). These shoes may last a season. If they didn’t look so cheap, I might have kept them.
